About Far North Queensland Rural Division of General Practice

Far North Queensland Rural Division of General Practices (FNQRDGP) is one of 118 Divisions of General Practice in Australia, which were first established in 1993, through what is now known as the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing, to provide support to General Practice at the local level.

FNQRDGP services the area from Tully in the south to the Torres Strait in the north including the Cape York Peninsula.

FNQRDGP improves the health of the people of Far North Queensland by working in partnerships to:

  • Develop additional health services in the community.
  • Support the coordination of local health care.
  • Promote important health messages to the public and decision makers.
